My Mongolia: Paintings of the Land of Chinggis Khan

Here are all but two of the paintings from my solo show at Plaza Design in December 2011 and January 2012. The others need to be re-photographed and will be posted as soon as I have done so.

The show represents all my favorite subjects that I have seen, photographed and sketched over six trips to Mongolia, starting in 2005. I originally went to see the wildlife, especially argali sheep and takhi, the world’s only surviving species of true wild horse, but quickly realized that the herders and their animals were equally compelling to learn about and paint, so they are represented in the show, too, along with their horses, camels and even a yak. Enjoy!

  1. AMAZING,,, made my day. I realized how much I have missed my country. I would love to see your paintings in person; will you be having an exhibition in the US?

  2. I do show my work, but don’t currently have anything scheduled. I also enter national juried shows and, when I have been accepted into one, my original work can be seen in them, although that is only one, maybe two, paintings. If you would like to stay informed about my art news, you can go to my website and fill out the contact form with your email address so that I can send you my newsletter. The next one will be out in about a month. For your kind comments….bayarlala!

  3. Your artwork is incredible! It really captures the beauty of the land and it’s inhabitants. Great work.
